Liesland Movie Reviews

Susan and I manage to watch a fair amount of movies after the kids go to bed. One night after watching a really horrible movie, I thought "This movie is so bad; I should put an entry in the blog so that others are not subjected to it." Well, I decided to make an entire page out of it.

Please pardon the mess while the old posts are converted over to the new format. I promise that I am working as quickly as possible to get this done.

Something Wild

Susan picked this one because it was listed as a comedy, but it is definitely not a comedy. It was interesting.

He's Just Not That Into You

I don't think that there is anything too special here. It was an enjoyable movie, but nothing to write home about. It was in that format where you follow a bunch of different lives that are inadvertantly intertwined. I don't usually like that format, but I think they did a good job of not forcing anything.

The Runner

This is definitely not a romantic comedy. I am left with a lot of questions after watching it, and I am not sure if that is a good thing or not.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Lame guy(s). Cool women. Sounds like a romantic comedy to me.

Sex and the City

Hmmm. . . we watched this a while ago and I don't remember it very well. I think that it was entertaining. The format is like the TV show, which took me a while to get used to.

Yes Man

I feel like I have seen this one before: boring guy, crazy girl, a relationship headed for some sort of disaster. Jim Carrey helped keep this movie a lot more enjoyable than it could have been.

Henry Poole Is Here

This movie could have earned more stars, but I spent the whole movie hating the main character and thinking that he is a moron.

Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist

We enjoyed this one. It was fast-moving and funny at times.

Long Life, Happiness & Prosperity

I wasn't too impressed, but I think that Susan liked it more than me. It was a little more serious than I expected.

Wall-E

This one was definitely a little different. It was good, just a little slow at times. They should have brought in a volleyball, and a star who can talk.
