New table

I don’t usually make posts about our furniture, but we got this really cool table from West End Architectural Salvage. It is 10 feet long and 4 feet wide. Susan pointed out that since living in the RV with tiny furniture we are going big!

Outdoor Productivity

Somewhat unplanned, we ended up having a very productive day today, getting our outdoor toys procured and set up.

We bought a basketball hoop from some neighbors, and just had to walk it home.

Lucia took care of Winnie for us.

We finished up work on the playset, which we dismantled and moved last weekend.

Mari and Elliot found a trampoline on Craiglist, so we got that that today.

Jumping on the new trampoline.

Winthrop Washington

After a crazy week where I ended up traveling to Cincinnati and having to drive back because my flight was canceled, Susan and the kids packed up at the Case Haubs’ this morning and we moved to our new house. That is actually not the biggest news of the day.

The biggest news is that we got a puppy! We drove a couple of hours to Barnum, IA to pick up Winthrop “Winnie” Washington Liesland. He is a 50/50 Golden Doodle, whose parents are both reddish and just under 50 pounds. So far, so good.

On the way home.

Storage Unit Flood

A few weeks ago we had a huge rainstorm in Des Moines that caused widespread flash flooding. We thought to check our new house after the flooding, but not our storage unit. When we went today to start moving some things into our new house we found some ruined mattresses, pictures, and towels.

New House!

We bought a new house! We found it a couple of weeks after we got back and closed on the 13th. Since then we have been painting, buying furniture, and beginning to collect our things from around the city.

Starting things off with a dance party.

Our car doesn’t fit in the garage.

Dinner on the deck.

Life in Phoenix

We had a hard time finding a campground in Phoenix that met our criteria. Many of the campgrounds here are 55+, which we definitely do not qualify for. We ended up about 45 minutes north of the city on a lake. It is a nice place and I am sure we will find plenty to do over the next few weeks.

Oakhurst -> Santa Cruz

Today we moved from Oakhurst to Santa Cruz. It was a quick drive,  back through the agricultural valley. It is amazing how many trees, bushes, and vines we have driven past.

There was a Halloween party at the campground which we arrived just in time for.

Mari and Elliot wrapped this girl in toilet paper. It was a race.

Elliot has been helping to get Rose to sleep lately. She had been sharing a bed with Lucia, but they were too wound up going to bed, so we had to separate them. Rose was not happy to be alone so Elliot volunteered to help. He normally reads his kindle and then when she falls asleep he moves to his bed, but it looks like tonight he never made the move.
